Apna Viva (viva.atmaloop.com) is made by AtmaLoop, a solo maker in India. This page explains what happens to the information you use in the app. Contact: support@atmaloop.com.
Who can use it
Apna Viva is meant for students aged 13 and above. Students under 18 should use it with a parent's or guardian's permission. We do not ask for your name, email, phone number or any account.
Your spoken answers
- When you tap the microphone, the app records your voice until you tap it again (up to 3 minutes). The recording is sent to our server and passed to Google Gemini only to turn it into text. Our server does not save the recording; it is discarded as soon as the text comes back.
- The text of your answer (which you can correct before submitting) is sent to our server to grade it. Our server sends the question, the marking scheme and your answer text to an AI service — Google Gemini and/or Anthropic Claude — which returns marks and feedback.
- These AI providers process the data under their own terms. We do not store your recordings or the text of your answers. Our server keeps only a short technical log of each request (question number, marks, recording size, time taken and which AI was used) to check accuracy and costs.
- Please do not say or type personal details (like your name, phone number or address) in your answers.
Daily limit and abuse protection
The app creates a random device ID and keeps it in your browser. Our server stores only a scrambled (hashed) form of this ID and of your IP address, to count daily free questions and to stop misuse. These counters are kept for a short time.
Progress on your device
Your concept map, revision dates and settings are stored only in your browser (local storage). Clearing your browser data removes them. We cannot see them.
Sharing
If you tap "WhatsApp pe report bhejo", the app opens WhatsApp with a short score summary that you choose whether to send. We do not sell or share your data with anyone else, and we do not show ads or use analytics trackers.
Your choices
You can type answers instead of speaking (no recording is made then), deny microphone permission, or clear your browser data at any time. For any question or request, write to support@atmaloop.com.

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above.
